Chase Financial Informative - Complaint - Mortgage With Chase
I am a 71 year old widow. Because I fell behind in payments, Chase more than doubled my monthly payments. I live on a fixed income and the new payment that Chase expects exceeds what I have to live on. There is no way that I can come up with that money. I have spoken to many, many people at Chase on many occasions. I was on the telephone daily, mostly on 'hold'. Eventually a recording would come that said 'no one can take your call at this moment' and the phone would go dead.
Chase said that if I didn't come up with the new payment amount monthly, and they would not pay partial payments - so I'm falling behind again. They have recently sent my mortgage payments back to me stating they would not accept partial payments (I was paying my old mortgage mount and they expected me to pay the new - they said that they were es crowing that extra monthly money instead of putting it towards my mortgage. They say that I am now behind 12 months in my mortgage even though I sent a check in monthly until they starting sending them back.
This is a very serious problem. I'm sick because I might lose my home. I barely eat or sleep. I have been hospitalized with severe anemia. I was down 5 liters (not pints) of blood. The doctors said that they had never heard of anyone being down that much blood and still be alive. They said that I should forget have my problems with Chase and concentrate on staying alive. If I stay alive it looks like I will have no home. I am no deadbeat. I have always paid my bills. I applied with the mortgage modification program. I have sent in the necessary papers four times. They say that they never received them and that time is running out for me to go into mortgage modification. Every where I turn, I'm hitting a stone wall. Now I am told that I am $41,465.58 behind in my payments (with late charges of $1,2690.05, Why????
This is a very serious problem. I've spoken with two lawyers about this, they have been given the same run around with chase. What can I do? This is a nightmare that will not end.
