Capital One Complaint - Holding your payments!
I applied for a Capital One credit card to gain reward point while one vacation because I knew I would be buying retail items. I was approved for a $500 limit card. I made several purchases and payment within 3 weeks of having my credit card, I was constantly charging and paying off most of my balance. I had made 2 previous payments with no problems, then I made a payment for $300, a few days later I wanted to make a purchase and my card was declined. I was so embarrasssed! I could have just paid cash and I usually don't like leaving the counter to call my bank if there is a problem but I was so infuriated that I made a $300 payment on a $500 limit card and it was declined! When I called C. O, they told me that they sometimes hold your payment for "security" and they hold it for 10 days?? What... That is the most ridiculous thing I have every herd of! Come on, my card limit is $500 not $5,000 and not to mention that they never bothered to tell me that my card would not work. One other thing that bothers me is that they take forever to post your transaction and even longer to post a returned item on your card. I really hope I don't have any more problems with Capital One.
