RV City, Huachuca City, AZ Complaint - Excessive Charges, Unprofessional - RV City Huachuca City, AZ

Review by kbgkbg on 2010-10-04
HUACHUCA CITY, ARIZONA -- We brought our trailer by RV City 3 times to have our gfi replaced in our generator. Each time there was no one there to help us... Finally, on the last visit - the service person (a woman) told us one of the techs would be at the same event we were doing the next day in Sierra Vista...

The svc tech Bob came right over & replaced the gfi in an hour & he was great and very professional. I asked him how much it would be, he didn't know & said the manager would call us...

Well Manager Gene called and told us the cost was $170!!! $130 for the service, $25 for the gfi & tax.

Unbelievable! My VW dealership in Tucson only charges $80 - $90 an hour! We're more than happy to pay a fair amount. The svc tech Bob was already at the event helping his wife, so he didn't have to make a separate trip; but we did realize it was a call off the premises and we were willing to pay a reasonable $70 or so for the call and $10 - $15 for the gfi (the gfi is $5 in the hardware store).

When I tried telling Gene that this was an excessive charge, especially considering we went to the premises 3 different times and wouldn't be helped, he refused to compromise at all. I asked to speak to the owner - he refused. I asked for the owner's number - he refused to give it to me and told me to come down to find the owner! Well, even if we did come down - it's unlikely the owner would be present and we live 50 miles away!

If this is the kind of service RV City wants to be known for, we'll be glad to spread the word to tell everyone about your unprofessionalism and excessive charges!
