Hotwire, Inc Complaint - Misrepresentation on beds and discounted rates
I used Hotwire to book a 4 night stay in the Hampton Inn Dulles-Cascades hotel in Sterling, VA hotel for our family vacation. Ended up with a bed and a pull-out "sofa bed" which was not disclosed (never dreamed to ask). Offered to pay additional to get regular beds, but they declined. Also the rate was not discounted, the rate posted on the Hampton Inn site was the exact same that Hotwire offered. Hotwire suggested they just changed rates (really? - it would have to have been in minutes as I checked as soon as I received the Hotwire confirmation because I didn't want the sofa bed). I called the hotel and they wouldn't do anything since payment was made to Hotwire directly. Hotwire offered to give me $40 in Hotwire money that could be used at their site for up to one year.
Fat chance of that, I declined. Please do yourself a favor and use another service other than Hotwire.
