BMW Complaint - Power Window Failure X3 - 325i BMW

325i BMW - Complaint
Review by WINDOW REPAIR X3 on 2010-10-06
BEL AIR, MARYLAND -- I am currently trying to have BMW as a company stand behind their product. My power window system has failed for the 3rd time and I feel this is not an acceptable standard of quality for which I should be held liable or responsible to fix. My car is out of warranty (2005)but under 70 thousand miles. I have no children and rarely any passengers ever in the car so there is no abuse or misuse of the car or window system.

I drive limited miles and keep it in the garage if I would have known of this inferior quality in their cars I would have never purchased this BMW. Also one of the fuel injectors went up and needed to be replaced. To top things off, there is a smell coming from the heat/air conditioning system that they feel is my fault. I was told I used the recirculation option and caused this myself.

I have never ran the recirculation option. I have lost faith in what I thought was a top quality contender in the automaker world. What I have found is a car that has more quality related problems than all the other cars I have owned, combined. I purchased my first car in 1979. I have had a few cars and non have let me down like this one. I am not holding the dealership responsible (BMW of bel air md.) As the car is out of warranty and they are not being backed by the dealer so they would be out of pocket also. I do feel as though I should not have to be stuck with this inferior quality and the expensive repeat repairs for what I feel is a quality control and or design related issue. I feel there is a defect in the manufacturing of this car with the repeated problems. I am waiting on a reply from BMW north America customer service dept to render this problem right at their expense, not mine.

I'm sure you were offered an extended warranty. If you refused and the warranty has expired then the repair comes out of your pocket. That is the way it works. If you really think that you buy better quality from these so called luxury cars, well...

Running the recirculating option is NOT the cause of the smell. The problem is almost 99% of the time in the Evaporator core. This problem has been around since almost the dawn of auto air conditioning. The manufacturers are well aware of it.

You can find more information on the cause and some solutions here:
