United Health Care Complaint - Frustrating & Time-consuming
SEATTLE -- I submitted a claim for massage therapy for a client. The first time United Health Care sent me a response saying I had the wrong code which was not true. I called (was not easy to get a live person) and had the claim resubmitted.
Next I get a letter saying reimbursement is delayed until I provide progress notes, clinical records, etc. If I do not provide the information within 45 days the claim will be automatically denied.
I file claims with a variety of health insurance providers and I have never been asked to submit such information with an initial claim. I have a prescription from the client's doctor which I think is fair to request. It seems that this is a matter of stalling to reimburse and/or incompetency. In the future I will not provide service for United Health Care members which is a shame for them.
