Qwest Complaint - Directory Assistance Billing Error
My last bill showed 3 calls to Directory Assistance at $1.99 each. There are just my wife, 11-yr-old daughter, and me in the house using the phone. We do not use directory assistance. It is too easy to look things up on the computer. My daugter was confronted and she did not even know what I was talking about. I don't believe she would have done this for 2 reasons: 1) She rarely even uses the phone. 2) One of the calls was made at 11:00 pm when she would have been asleep.
I called Qwest billing department thinking they would easily remove the charge as an error. They told me there was NO WAY POSSIBLE for this to be an error. Someone HAD TO make the calls from our phone.
I work in the Information Technology field, and I know how easy it is to get data posted to a wrong account. So don't tell me NO WAY POSSIBLE!
At this point, I guess I have to eat the $6 and pay Qwest. If it happens again, they will definitely lose my business (over $6). If they are knowingly doing this, I wonder how much money they are collecting from consumers, $6 at a time.
