123 VERVEDA STREET, NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I'm the stupid one! I agreed to a 5 year warranty for 1500 dollars. I was told that at anytime I could cancel my membership and the pro-rated warranty would be refunded. Ok, my naive self thought that sounded pretty air-tight. I purchased it in Feb 2009. NO! They are horrible to work with. I wanted to refund our warranty b/c we are active duty military and moved out of state and now live in base housing. I called end of June 2010 and was told a refund would be processed within in 6 weeks. After 6 weeks I saw nothing so I emailed. You can't get through on (347)809-5496 or 1-800-number. They tell you to email. The response I got "We have every intention of providing this refund as soon as the funds become avaiilable" WHAT? you don't have 1000 bucks? Not only are they super nice when you sign up, they really do seem to be a reputable company. DON'T BE FOOLED. I'm a college educated, world traveling, modern woman who thought I had a pretty good sense of shotty business practices. Well I was duped and don't let it happen to you!
Good Luck
Susan in Hawaii.

I'm not a fan of any home warranty service, though I've seen comments from some folks that have liked them. We keep some money in our savings account specifically for possible home problems and that serves as our 'warranty'. By the way, thank you for your military service as well as your review. It's appreciated!
