Priceline.com Complaint - Holiday Inn San Jose no 3-star hotel!
I placed Priceline bid for a one-night weekday stay at a 3-star hotel in Santa Clara area. Bid was accepted for Holiday Inn in San Jose. Described on Priceline website as "You'll find comfort and modern luxury..." etc. I arrived early evening. I was shocked. The lobby and detached building where I was placed was seedy and in bad need of repair. I was looking over my shoulder. Lighting was poor. The lobby door had a sign posted for "Application for change of ownership." A supposed 3-star hotel, yet the room had no bathtub! Desk had no available outlets to plug in computer-in fact, the two nearby outlets had plastic covers over them. There was a dead mosquito on wall behind old-style TV. Stains on wall near bed. A threadbare bedspread. Appalling that Priceline rates this as 3-star. On the good side, bed appeared clean. Staff at cafe were very nice (although loud talking from intoxicated customers at bar area was distracting). Walking back from cafe to room, discovered back "security" door was broken and did not close. Second thoughts about ever using Priceline again.
