Ashley Furniture Complaint - Worst Customer Service Ever and Disappointing Sales Service
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- Back in May 2010 we bought a kitchen table and chair set that came with a bench. We bought the table at the end of their Memorial Day sale. We are a family of five we would never buy a table that only comes with four chairs. I noticed on the price that was on the table the bench was extra. When I mentioned this to the sales person as I did not want to pay their package price that included the bench as it would have cost us more than the bench if we bought the bench separately. He assured us several times that the sale price we got included the bench. We paid for table and left the store. We were supposed to have our table set delivered on June 2nd but someone from the delivery team side called my cell phone. Could not speak understandable English, obviously didn't know what he was talking about he tells me that they can only deliver chairs as they didn't have the table. I was like what? We were told everything was in stock and being delivered. He proceeded to tell me that maybe something was wrong with the table like got scratched up and they had to fix it before they delivered. I said NO I don't think so it will be a new table not a fixed scratched table I paid for a new table. Why would I want them to only deliver chairs and no table. I had to call the main customer service in which they said they should have had all our order on their truck. But didn't really seem to concerned regarding the message I got from the delivery side that couldn't speak English. Then I found out we were not getting the bench and I had to call the main store and talked to a Christina who was appologettic and put in the middle of us and the manager. She was very understanding and great but she couldn't actually make any final determination. Evidently the manager didn't want to talk directly to us. I was very angry and got a lot of run around between the store and their customer care. It was ridiculous to say the least. I said from the beginning that I should just get the bench for the delivery fee I paid and that I should not have to pay a penny more due to their incompetence. They wanted to charge me more for the bench. I had to play hard ball with both the customer care side and the store manager side. They didn't want to comp us on the bench that only cost 60.00 to begin with. Then I said you know what just cancel our entire order and refund us out 495.79 we will go elsewhere. About five minutes later the store calls back and says they will get us our bench and the sales person would have to pay for their error. Whatever is all I had to say just get my furniture to me without me paying anything else. I got the table and chairs on June 7th and didn't get the bench until the 15th!! I had to call and inquire the whereabouts of the bench in which I got a huge song and dance about the bench. I ended up with my furniture that we paid for however, their customer service and sales manager at the store was the most ridiculous interaction ever. Needless to say I will never shop Ashley again. To make matters worse they send us a 25.00 gift card but you had to spend an additional like 499 to be able to use it. I think NOT! We are military and I plan on telling any of my military friends and family not to waist their good money at Ashleys because they will get horrible sales service and even worst customer care/delivery service.
We just bought 5000.00 worth of furniture and we most certainly did not waste our time at Ashleys. We shopped at LACKS where their sales reps were outstanding and very informative of their products and stock availability while we were still shopping, their customer service is outstanding, their delivery is outstanding! So anyone out there really wanting quality furniture and quality service DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED MONEY AT ASHLEYS!!!!
