Speck - Speckproducts.com Complaint - Buyer Beware - Speck fitted case for iphone 4

Review by jcm3c on 2010-10-15
PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA -- I got a Speck fitted case for my iPhone 4 from Apple. Before I put the case on the iphone, I applied a protective film to protect it from being scratches. When I put the case on the iphone, it lifted up the edges of the protective film. It looked terrible and I had to remove the case. I had no idea this would happen. This is not why I picked the case.

I have sent 3 emails to Speck for a return/exchange via their web site. I haven’t heard from them for 2 weeks. I called them again and finally was able to reach them. The customer service representative told me that Speck is not responsible for the problem because the protective film is not theirs. The representative added that the Speck fitted case would only work with the Speck's protective film.

Their web site doesn’t mention anything about that. I researched on the web before getting the case and found nothing about it.

I am very dissatisfied with the Speck product.

Have you tried to contact the manufacturer who made the protective film? Let them know how it ruined your Speck fitted case. At least it's a start.

I can't figure out how the protective film would ruin the Speck fitted case. If Speck fitted case would only work with the Speck's protective film, it should say so on the web site. Now, the film looks distorted and I can't use the case.
