Vonage Complaint - Automatic renewal & no refund
HOLMDEL, NEW JERSEY -- I had Vonage service for some years. They renew the service by charging you some $330. If you do not notify them within 30 days(what customer service people said), or 45 days (response to BBB complaint) they will not refund any money although you have prepaid for the entire year.
They assume that sending this mail and the charges going through are sufficient items to warrant a renewed contract. This is true even when the email address is no longer valid when they send the email.
All customer service people are well trained and will only say it is not possible to refund any money.
If the BB fails I will take them to court. Not that the amount is so bad, just the fact that they are stealing money from people an standing behind a contract which was never valid (or at least the renewal wasn't).
They also try to talk you into keeping the service since you already paid for it. No doubt a technique to minimize the number of people actually pursuing a refund.
