Macys Store Credit Card - Complaint
Unlike most retailers or card issuers who credit your account on the date it was paid online(they may take a few days for it to show on your account but you are credited for the date paid)if you pay your Macys account on their website online it will take as long as a week for you to get credit and it will show it was paid late and not the date paid. I paid my account 4 days before due date online. When I received late fee I called and was told monies were not credited until 3 days after my due date. My bank statement showed monies were paid 1 day after authorization. Macys did take off late fee but I cancelled my account and NEVER EVER NEVER shopped at Macys again. Every dealing with that company is a hassle. Returns, payments, deliveries, it is just not worth the trouble. There really is nothing at Macys I can't get elsewhere and do.

That's pretty crappy, but maybe it was just a one-time mistake? They credited you the fee, so maybe you can give them another shot?

It depends on how you paid it online. If you are paying from your own bank (which you should be)there can be a 1-3 day delay, so plan accordingly. If you are paying from their website (terrible idea), you should get immediate credit.

You don't get an immidiate credit when you pay your bill at Macys.com. It takes up to 72 hours to be posted on your account. I think its ridiculous that they need up to 3 days to credit a payment but the disclosure is right there on the billpay site.

Pay CASH- no problem with being given credit.

"Macys did take off late fee" I would think this is a compliment and good job on Macys end, stuff happens, give them another chance.

My car insurance won't post payment til the next business day. So of I pay friday it doesn't post til monday. Luckily I am aware of that and pay on time

Call me old-fashioned, but I still get paper statements and send my payments through the mail. I mail them ten days before the due date and have never had a problem with any of my payments being late. It takes a little more effort than just sitting at a desk, but I have found it to be well worth it.
