Choice Hotels Complaint - Choice Hotels Reward Points are a Fake
NEW COLUMBIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Having accumulated over 15000 reward points, and needing only 10,000 for a free night, I decided to use them on a trip today for a Hotel tomorrow night. I checked in the Internet for the Hotel I wanted in the city I wanted and found the room I wanted: 1 King room, no smoking with jacuzzi. The Senior rate was $81. So I tried to book it on the Internet as a Choice Privileges Redemption. THREE TIMES! Each time I got the message: "Sorry, our reservation system is down at this time. Try later." So I telephoned the hotel. Yes, they had that room available. I made a reservation and they asked for my credit card. I said I wanted to use my privilge points. "No, to do that you can have a double room or a queen bed and no jacuzzi." So I asked what good are these points if I can't use them for the room I want? No response. So I went back in the internet and booked the room I wanted at a good price. Of course their reservation system was working for that! I am a retired lawyer. If I get bored this winter I might try a class-action lawsuit.
