Sony Electronics Inc Complaint - Poor quality
I purchased a playstation 3 near launch time. I was the $600 model with all the bells and whistles. It was great until I got the dreaded yellow light of death. Of course the warranty was up and to keep all of the features that I origionally paid for (at this time several were removed for the "updated" model) I had to pay nearly $200 for a refurb unit. I understood the situation and paid my "dues". Now 10 month later it's happened again. I called "customer service" and was told that because the machine was passed the 90 day warranty (the machine was supposed to have been in a "like new" condition. New units have a 1 year warranty) I would have to pay the $200 fee again. Now I got quite aggitated because of this. I spoke to a supervisor who told me that there was nothing that could be done. So... $1000 for a PS3 is a little much in by book. No more Sony products for me. By the way... most of my home electronics are Sony, but I will be finding a new favorite. Goodbye Sony.
