Best Buy Complaint - Sony Flat Screen 46" / Stand
RIDGEFIELD, MINNESOTA -- I made a purchase of a new Sony TV, and matching stand, on 10/10/2010 at your Union City CA store. Subsequently, I was informed by the sales person (who apparently was not a Best Buy employee) that delivery and installation was free because our purchase exceeded $ 999.00. On 10/19/2010, delivery was made to our home. The delivery people said there would be a charge for assembly of the stand, and mounting of the TV. Total additional charge of $ 200.00. I was told he could not deliver or mount the purchase without assurance of payment of $ 200 on the spot.
I agreed to pay the $ 200 under protest. My receipt from the Union City CA store bore no reference to a charge for assembly, installation nor mounting. Whatever savings I may have earned on the purchase price was offset by the additional $ 200.00. I am asking for a review of this issue and refund (not a store credit) of $ 200.00. I have been a loyal Best Buy customer but this instance will cause me to visit other local stores for any future large purchases. Thank you
