Gigabyte Technology Compliment - Great RMA Experience

Review by Noformation on 2010-10-20
I have a two year old 9800GT that recently died on me and I had to get it RMA'd by Gigabyte.

Step 1: Filed for the RMA and got a confirmation email within two days

Step 2: Shipped it in

Step 3: Got an email a week later saying they can't repair it and they no longer have it in stock so they're shipping me a brand new Geforce GTS250, which is *quite* a bit nicer than the 9800, at no charge no less :)

The process was simple and efficient and they even replied to inquisitive emails within an hour or two.

The other great thing is that they honor your warranty based on the manufacturing date alone, so as long as you have the serial number you don't need a receipt, old invoice or proof of purchase. This is also nice because if you sell a vid card to someone else they also get a warranty.

I usually hate dealing with tech companies, especially ones that are obviously based in Asia but Gigabyte was a pleasure.

Thanks! This may be useful to me since I have a Nvidia in the machine I'm using now.
