Marietta Saturn Dealer - Service Dept Complaint - Customer Levels The Corrupt Playing Field

Review by HAPPYTHEY WENT BELLY UP on 2010-10-21
MARIETTA GEORGIA -- Okay, I first figured out that the Saturn Dealership in Marietta Near Dobbin AFB was not playing fair, when my sedan lost ONLY the linkage bolt and they kept insisting that my linkage cables HAD to be replaced and so they took that initiative without my prior approval - I was on a short time table and needed that car - so having them undo the cables was unheard of although in a different circumstance that is exactly what I would have done.

The BEST part of a dishonest person and organization is when we get the chance at a FREE RECALL. I read about the timing chain failures on the L200 and promptly brought mine in to none other than Saturn Marietta to have the FREE work and chain installed. I verified first that there would be no cost to me to do this proactively - and they concurred. Just like a scammer, they called me to tell me the car was ready - and oh, BTW, they charged me $48 for an oil change that was, once again, required. The best laugh I had when they tried to explain why they had to do an oil change was telling them that not withstanding - that was a cost of the timing issue to restore the block to AS_WAS condition after a repair, I had JUST had my oil changed the day before - so when they told me just how dirty the oil was, I waited for their entire line of nonsense and then gave them a heads up. TOO FUNNY - the crook stammered and then said in an unprofessional huff - well, we will go ahead and give it to you for free.

I agree with you. If the timing chain is being replaced under a recall, there is no way in the world you should be charged for oil.

To me, if there is oil loss due to the chain replacement, as a minimum they should replace all the oil and leave the filter. Oils shouldn't be mixed. Best case, throw in the filter - but GM probably won't pay for that.
