Roxio Complaint - Roxio one of the worts software companies - Roxio Spin Doctor

Roxio Spin Doctor - Complaint
Review by afro9 on 2010-10-22
I must admit that Roxio is a terrible company. I purchased Spin Doctor 6 for MAc via Internet, and the product is flawed, wasted a lot of time triying to get it work: bugs, freezes, sudden quitting, etc etc. Tried to contact them 4 times in a week and received only two confirmations, but no help. Furthermore, they sent me a e-mail specifiying that my payment has not been approved, but my Visa account proved the exact contrary. And that's not all: this last invoice featured a different order no. than the one I receiving just after downloading...
I will try to get a refund, but but this is probably as useful as beating a dead horse.
In one word: don't be lured in buying from them, I can't understand why they're still in business.

Have you visited the website to see if theres an update or patch for your product?

All I know about Roxio is they are the geniuses behind Angry Birds. There's no way a company that came up with that game is one of the software companies!

What do you mean when you say you got two "confirmations" but no help? Did anyone actually respond to your requests?

Momsey: Rovio makes Angry Birds. Roxio makes media software.

Oh! Thanks for clearing that up, jabooty!

After trying to get through Roxio "service" for two weeks, I finally understood their method for robbing the poor customer:
1- They conceived a service system that is so complicated that just getting to the right web page is in itself time consuming, and discourage the average person.
2-If you finally get to the service page and write a 'ticket", one time out of two your attached documents don't go through. So you get the same answer on and on. And since they take at least 24 hours to answer, they get another delay. Furthermore, chances are that you'll get a different "person" to answer each time, and asking the same questions. At this point, you're probably halfway through your "15 days of refund" for web purchase.
3-When the poor sucker finally understand that he's been taken for an ass and decides to go to the "refund" page (after another session of fumbling around their inextricable website), he's asked to enter it's order number, which is not recognized!
So bingo! the most dedicated purchaser finally surrenders and considers that the money spent (and literally stealed) is not too much for the lesson learned. I only hope that one day there will be enough robbed customers to ruin the reputation and business of this miserable company.

TO MRM:
Of course, I tried the 6.1.1 update two or three times, with no results. I must say that Spin Doctor 3 was at least a working product. Freezed and quitted frequently, but usable 50% of the time. But SD 6 is non-working.
