Tysinger Auto Compliment - Unbelievably excellent service!

Review by 136608 on 2010-10-24
HAMPTON, VIRGINIA -- My mother purchased a new 2003 Mercedes C-Something from Tysinger auto. She did not drive the car much and here in 2010 it had about 35,000 miles on it and was in mint condition. She loved this car. A few weeks ago she noticed that it had a little water on the floor on the driver's side. She called Tysinger and like they ALWAYS did, they came to her house to pick up the car (over 30 miles) and left her with a 2010 Mercedes as a loaner.

The repair she needed was extensive. Apparently, some type of drain was clogged and the water came in through the dash and saturated the floor. All of the electronic "stuff" in Mercedes is under the floor and the repair was major and about $3000+. Enter Allstate...

Allstate determined they would prefer not to pay to repair this auto and totaled the car. They offered a value of $16000. We were upset! Mom planned on having this car for years more. She has retired now and did not really want another car payment but she couldn't buy another Benz for $16k!

Here is the part that blew me away...

Both Tysinger AND Allstate worked tirelessly to find Mom a new car. Allstate called me and gave me several similar vehicles in MD and VA with low mileage close to her price range. Tysinger called Mom and did the same. The next day she decided on a vehicle at Tysinger, Allstate met her there with the check and she drove home in a 2007 Mercedes C-Something just like she had. She had to finance a few thousand but she willingly accepted this as the cost of upgrading to a later model car. Allstate also paid Tysinger for their repair/diagnostic work.

Personally, I have never received this type of service from either my dealership or my insurance company. They made this a COMPLETELY pain-free process for my mother. In my experience, they give you their lowest salvage value possible and say , "Here Lady, go take this $1000 and buy yourself a Yugo. Have a nice life."

Both Allstate and Tysinger get 5 stars and a 2-thumbs up from me. I will definitely be visiting them for my next auto purchase.

Incredible, I live in the city where PeTA is headquartered, where NATO is headquartered, and the largest Naval Base in the world.

Ahhhh! I know it well! I cry when I go there as it involves a tunnel.

Tunnels, bridges...it's all good.

I haven't see that name yet but I will keep my eye out for her. I live in the woods between Richmond and Williamsburg...lol. I can do a tunnel OR a bridge but the tunnel +bridge +tunnel combination gives me the sweats.

Can you imagine what would have happened if this was a Hyundai? Allstate is looking for the cheapest way out on this claim. You did well. Good post.
