Nissan Complaint - Bad car
ALISO VIEJO, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a new Nissan Sentra 2000 in 2000 and in five years it has run only 41000 miles. It started making a noise on turning the steering whenever it was parked. On getting it checked up, the dealership told me that the power steering rack is faulty and it costs $1050 and including the labor and alignment charges, it would cost about $1800+. What a rip-off! I contact the consumer section of Nissan and after making me wait for more than 3 weeks and endless phone calls from my side, all they had to say was "Sorry, we cannot help. It has run out of warranty".
I just fail to understand why it is designed so poorly that a minor problem should lead to such high repair costs.
Besides this, there are several other nagging problems with the Sentra. I strongly recommend that people NOT buy this car by being influenced by Nissan's advertizing gimmicks. Their styling and marketing is good, but under the hood, it sucks and all the nuts and bolts fall apart pretty soon.
