Orbitz Complaint - Horrible Experience - Refund from Cancellation
Orbits uses a company called "Neat Travel" to do their hotel bookings. I cancelled a hotel booking 24 hrs after I made it (I simply switched to a different hotel). They confirmed on the phone that I qualified for a full refund and sent me an email verifying this. The charge for the CANCELLED hotel booking showed up on my credit card bill 45 days later (?????). I called and emailed numerous times trying to get this credited as originally promised and kept getting excuses (it's a system error - give us 5 more days, I don't know why it didn't go through - call us back if you don't see it in 5 days, etc.) I finally had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. I won't use Orbit/Neat Travel ever again. Dealing with the "Neat Travel" people was a horrible experience. There are way too many discount travel agencies out there - they've lost me as a customer and anybody I can convince not to use them too!
