Netspend Complaint - DO NOT GET A NETSPEND CARD-ITS A SCAM
My husband had received a "prepaid NETSPEND mastercard" in the mail that states to activate when received. Asked my husband what the card was about and what its for, and he had no recall of what the card was.
Called Netspend customer service number after looking more into Netspend and with the number dialed, they only gave 2 options in the prompt
1) press 1- if you card was lost, stolen, or not yet received
2) press 2- to enter card # information.
1st time I hit 2, entered the card, and then asked to create a pin. At that point I hung up the phone and called back bc I was NOT activating a card that we have no idea about
2nd time I pressed 1 to speak to a representative. spoke to a young female representative who sounded like she had NO IDEA what she was talking about & it sounded like a circus was in the background. Asked the name on card, and my house address #s. No other information was given nor asked for.
Asked the female "how she got my husbands information" and "why he has a card that is not an offer with bank information on it" (not our bank information, theirs assuming) She kept placing me on hold for about 20 second and then came back on the phone STILL not knowing how to answer my question.
...END OF STORY..THIS PLACE IS A JOKE ! DO NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING FROM THEM. WHAT THEY SENT DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT BEING AN OFFER...IT JUST SAYS ACTIVATE.
