TiVo Complaint - TIVO canceled by PRODUCT LIFETIME SERVICE
I just got off the phone with Customer Support. My TIVO service said it was canceled yesterday out of the blue. I purchased this TIVO more than two years go with a Product Lifetime Service just as my other TIVO had. The TIVO reps said that this particular Lifetime Service was not in fact lifetime and that it was set to expire due to it being either a "promotional TIVO" or a "TIVO employee plan". But, they could not say for sure what mine was. Everything I have and verified though shows that I had a PRODUCT LIFETIME SERVICE. This is straight from the TIVO website itself. There is nothing on the website which denotes different degrees of Lifetime service. Lifetime is what it means and is defined as on there own website, "Lifetime". I think I am being screwed over here by them and they are unwilling to budge or assist me. They are telling me, "We will not turn your service back on unless you by another plan." They want me to pay an additional $299 for what I have already paid as much for. What gives here? I think everyone needs to know this and I will do my best to inform them. In the past, I have been pleased with TIVO and its service, but I now have a bad taste in my mouth. I was told there is no one else to speak with about the issue and that nothing else could be done. They would not provide me with their names or a mailing address to send a request for these records showing I have no been strong armed by them.
