Garland Nissan Hopkinsville, KY Complaint - Garland Nissan - Trade-in Rip Off

Review by momofmandm on 2010-10-27
HOPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Garland Nissan ripped me off. I purchased a "demo" Altima and traded in a 2010 Matrix. I told the salesman that I needed $15,000 for trade-in. When I purchased vehicle, the salesman did not tell me or point out the trade-in value. The trade-in value was reduced to $11,000!!!! Yeah, I signed the papers, but Garland Nissan is crooked being that they did not point out/verbally speak of the trade in value. I notified the dealership of the "rip off" the next day and they would not make any modifications. I feel like I was taken advantage off. They made no concessions or anything to help resolve my issue. Garland Nissan is a crooked dealership.

The dealership cheated me on the "demo" and the "trade-in".

It is not a rip-off because you made an incorrect assumption that your trade-in request was approved.

How did they cheat you on the demo?

You should have checked the sales agreement before you signed it. I recently bought a new car and I checked every number on it. They tried to add Etch for $200 so they had to shred the contract and print a new one. They also tried to sell the extended warranty which I declined.

Why didn't you ask how much they were giving you for your trade. When trading a vehicle in, you can negotiate over what they give you for it. My last vehicle I bought they were only going to give me $2K for it. I was able to negotiate with them to give me $5K for it. It is you own fault for not reading the contract before signing and not asking about how much they were giving you for your trade.
