With the economy the way it is, you can only "hope" utility companies are as compassionate as other "collectors", however, this is not the case with ComEd....if you lose your job or come across hard times, ComEd is not your friend. Never have they offered any type of assistance or any compassion to their customers.
I'm sure if there was another electric company available they would lose a major portion of their consumers.

An unfortunate fact is that businesses are in business to make money. Compassion can be very hard to come by in this environment.
