Informative - Scam Information - DVD'S

Review by seabiscut on 2010-10-29
FLORIDA -- I would like to thank the person who wrote the complaint against Starting with TOTAL SCAM. I had purchased something from them and after reading the complaint I checked my credit card statement and low and behold there was a charge on my credit card for being a memeber (which was not anywhere in the ad) for 9.99.

I called them and they agreed to remove the charge. It is too bad that the person that wrote this article had realized they had been deducting 9.99 a month since 2007.

Thank you again!!!!!!!!!

Not sure where the scam is. It's all there, all spelled out in front of you, before you even put in your personal information, and your credit card number. You can either choose it, or select the, NO THANKS offer button. It's a big rip off, because there are so many other on line website to order DVD's from, that DO NOT require some kind of membership.

Terms of Offer:
By placing your order today you will begin a 7-day trial of BestBrandValues, providing access to big discounts and savings on top brand products. After the trial, the membership fee of $19.95 per month will be charged or debited by BestBrandValues to the credit or debit card you provide today and then be automatically charged or debited at the then-current monthly membership fee for each month that you continue your membership. You may cancel at any time by calling 1-866-529-3413 and if you cancel your membership before the end of the trial period, you will not be billed for the monthly membership fee.

Offer is available to new members only. Limit one per household.

I am not sure why other commenters are sticking up for this company. This company tries to be slick by signing people up for a "membership" that does nothing. They prey on people who do not pay attention.

Actually the membership lets you buy DVD's for much less than retail price. I had found the site, read all the information, and decided it was not worth it for me. I guess if you are the type of person to not read the terms and conditions when purchasing items on websites before you click that little box to accept them, then maybe you would feel it is a scam. Slick-yes-I am sure they are counting on people just blindly accepting the terms and conditions. But don't blame them-blame yourself for not reading them. Geez.
