DirecTV Inc Complaint - They can't accept "NO"!
My wife & I just cancelled DirecTV service with 4 months shy of our two-year commitment. I called up to cancel, and the gentleman that took our call listened patient to my laundry list of reasons why the service was no longer needed, among them price. He also appreciated the fact that I was very calm, and "had this researched out" in advanced. This call literally went off without a hitch: I was given the amount of the final bill, instructions on returning my receivers, etc. and had my many questions answered. This took place at approximately 10:30 AM, local time.
Fast forward a few hours. We received calls from the same number at: 3:44 PM, 4:10 PM, 6:33 PM, and the next day at 1:01 PM, all from DirecTV. All wanting us to come back. Each call was progressively answered with an angrier tone of voice on our end. This is a sad reflection of a desperate company that apparently cannot afford to lose my business. After I get done posting here, I am looking for the number for my state's Attorney General to see if there's anything they can do to help stop the harassment (and four times in 24 hrs. - with two calls not even a half hour apart - is pretty damn extreme).
