Electrolux Complaint - Electrolux French Door Refrigerator
We bought this refrigerator at Howard's on 3/20/2010. On 4/29/2010 we called their service department to report that the ice maker does not work. They upgraded the I/M module and it started working again. On 9/27/2010 we called them again because the ice maker stopped making ice again. They came out and installed another upgraded I/M module. On 10/14/2010 the ice dispenser started dripping water. One technician came out and left to stay that he would be back on Monday. Monday came and went and we did not see the technician again. We called on Tuesday and got a different technician who could not duplicate the problem. Today, the ice dispenser started dripping water again. We are about to call then again tomorrow.
I am really disappointed with this refrigerator. One would think that with the high price ($2799), the last thing a consumer would want is an appliance that does not function properly. I really believe that there is a systemic problem with these ice makers and Electrolux does not know or understand the root cause of the problem. They keep upgrading the I/M module and each time it would work for a certain time and fail again. They need to invest the time and money to fix this. The ice maker produces ice when it wants to and not when you need it.
If anyone out there is considering in buying this model, I would caution you. I would stay away from this product, unless you really like this product or I could sell you mine. I started to do some research and found out that I was not alone with this problem. Other consumers are having the same issues with this appliance.
