Werke Classic Coach Complaint - Deficient Automobile Restoration
CHARLTON CITY, MASSACHUSETTS -- Werke Classic Coach claims to be in the business of vintage and classic motor vehicle restoration, including buying, repairing, restoring and selling vintage and classic motor vehicles. I engaged this company to restore one of my cars and to restore one of theirs, for my eventual purchase. Both cars were delivered out of state, supposedly finished, but with significant shortfalls.
On the mechanical side, defects included burned points, plugs and condenser, inoperable clutch, poor alignment, improper fuel line connection, dirt in the fuel tank which was carried through the carburetor and engine, etc. Cosmetically, the cars were missing parts, there were imperfections in the paint, etc. Within a few days neither car operated.
Repeated communications with the owner and his son were not returned. Now the owner is trying to hide behind a corporate veil by closing down his LLC but continuing to operate. I wonder if I am the only one this has happened to? The owner has formed and dissolved four businesses in the past 27 years, all in vintage automobiles. Hmmmmm.
Oh ... and instead of supplying the one car with new navy blue leather seats, he spray painted RED seats blue and I guess hoped the paint would last long enough so we wouldn't figure it out before the final check cleared!
Beware of his changing Ebay user ID: werkeclassic then coveclassicmotorsports and now gmcspeedster57! Why would one need to keep changing their user ID?????
