DirecTV Inc Complaint - Disgusting Treatment of Seniors
My mother, in her early 80's, was diagnosed with a terminal illness and had to give up her apartment. She had Direct TV and when I called to cancel her service, I was told that she had a 24 month contract (16 months left)and that her termination fee would be over $300. When I asked if the termination could be waived due to this not being her decision to end service, I was told, "NO, it was in the contract and that's how it was". Of course, the salesman who sold the service to my mother was more interested in his sale, than whether or not she understood what she was buying into. She had no understanding or recollection of what she had signed. Direct TV insisted that it was in the promotional materials and very clear in the contract...yea in the fine fine print seniors can't even see! I am really disgusted with their response to my request. I believe this compnay is more into making money off people, no matter how they do it.
