Orbitz Complaint - Reservation-change-hell with Orbitz customer non-service
I recently needed to make a change to a reservation I made with Orbitz. (The change is actually due to a website error but I need to make the change now because they cannot verify the error for up to 7 business days).
This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Combining this with experiences of what appears to be a frequent pricing fraud on their flights (where you select a flight with a low price and they give you a flight with higher price instead), I will never use Orbitz again.
Initially I spoke to one agent who kept me on and off hold for 75 minutes (!) while he supposedly contacted the airline and confirmed various things. At the end of all this, I learned he had made the *wrong* change, despite the fact that we had gone over this several times at the beginning of the call. I asked for a supervisor and waited another 50 minutes (!) on hold to speak to someone. Finally, I spoke to his supervisor and spent another 30 minutes (!) making the correct change (which had to be repeated several times before he got it right). The reward for the 2 hours and 32 minutes that is gone forever from my life: I was charged $435 in change fees!
Orbitz -- I suggest your hire some competent customer service agents who speak/understand English. Maybe then I would consider booking through Orbitz again.
Unless you love to listen to hours of classical music while on hold, or never need to make reservation changes (whether your fault or theirs), I suggest to find another travel service or book direct with the airlines.
