Southeastern honda dealership Complaint - scam on rotors
MELBOURNE, FLORIDA -- I took my 1995 Honda accord to this dealership loyally for at least 9 years. On three different occasions I was ripped off on repairs. THe first a speaker blown and "replaced." The second just overall work on the car was done and someone who dropped it off ended up having a problem with the actual "work" done for what we paid. Third, I personally dropped it off for a brake situation. I needed new brake pads and rotors on the front 2 wheels. THe back were rusty but had a little life left so I left them alone. When I picked the car up from the dealership I drove it straight to Midas to have the muffler replaced while on the lift they showed me my "new" rotors honda so graciously installed. The front left was indeed new looking, the left? COMPLETELY RUSTED. Rusted to the point it had PITS in it. I drove it straight back to the dealership the next day and was told by the shop manager before I even showed him the rotor he was going to show me "the difference between a new rotor , the front wheel and an old rotor the back wheel." After insisting that the front was pitted and rusted and not up to standards for a "new" part this assistant service manager Phil Chieco suggested that maybe it was rusted because "you drove through a puddle on the way to Midas." Are you kidding me? THen his manager Chris Jaehne, after a 2 hr arguement eventually replaced it insisting that "Honda strives to keep their customers happy even if they know the customer is 100% wrong and the part is not officially deffective." (his arguement against the rust) He claimed all the new hondas on the lot have rusted rotors and that is a natural thing with rotors. Must be some bad rust, it happened in 12 hrs flat AND with pits! Watch out. Anyway, this dealership puts these on here and there even if they should be sent back because they bargain that customers will not look at things like this and pawning a three yr old rusty rotor off on a customer is at least worth a shot. Even when you catch them? You go through this. Looking like a liar that drives through puddles then tries to rip THEM off for a new one. please.
