Vonage Informative - Vonage: Avoid!
Vonage had intermittent service for our phone, which was the reason we called their customer service. This by itself is not a big deal: we just wanted to cancel the service, because it wasn't reliable enough for us. This is where it all went downhill.
They wanted to charge us $130 to cancel a service that wasn't working satisfactorily. Strange. They then said they could waive the fee if their IT people couldn't resolve the problem. We were game, so after another HOUR on the phone, they dropped our phone call (should tell you something about their service quality, no?). We called back, and got the same old story: no, sorry, it's not their fault that the VOIP doesn't work, and even though it's not really our fault either, they still NEED to charge us $127 to cancel the service. Or, of course, we could keep paying $10/month ($120 /year) to continue the service, and cancel it later. So they try to extort your money for whatever they can, regardless of the right thing to do.
Avoid these people. This is not how anyone should do business. Check out their BBB ratings and reviews throughout, and you will come to agree.
