USAA Complaint - New Fees, higher rates, lower limits
I've had a credit card with USAA for a long time...over 10 years. I was surprised to get 2 letters from them in September stating that my payment was late, but when I check the account online I've paid the balance in full.
Next came a letter that said they were cutting my credit limit almost in half because I don't use the card enough. (my credit is excellent so that wasn't the reason they lowered my limit)
I wasn't too upset about the limit --- I really don't use the card often anyway, but I would like to have the higher limit in case I'm traveling away from home with my family and have an emergency ( i.e. these days 4 plane tickets on short notice could be very expensive...)
Still no worries.
Until I read the mouse type with my statement about NEW fees. A fee each month if I DON'T use the card?!!!
And now the interest rate is higher?
Honestly, I'd rather have an annual fee and a fixed interest rate and credit limit ...instead of so many changes.
I just checked my balance and I have a CREDIT because I over paid when they sent me the bills that were incorrect.
I've loved this company for so long, got many in my family to work with them and have always had excellent customer service in the past
so this is diappointing. I'm out of love
and I'm looking for a new credit card
just posting this for others who may have a USAA card - read the back of your statement to find out if you have any new charges, credit limit changes or other changes...find out before it is too late!!
