Expedia.com Complaint - The Blue Sheet. - customer service.
First I want to start off by saying, this letter could have been a complaint about the hotel that I stayed. This complaint is about Expedia and it's lack of quality customer service. I booked a vacation package flight and hotel through Expedia. I arrived very late my first night. I was in conference all day the next day I returned to my room about 13 hours later. Upon my return to my room I inquired with the front desk " Is there a reason my room was not cleaned?" I was informed that guest must stay 7 day to have your room cleaned. "What"! The nice front desk lady said to me "Didn't you read the "blue sheet?". I was told I could have it cleaned and clean sheets for twenty five dollars, if there is someone doing housekeeping on the next day. This hotel had hundreds of rooms and they don't have full time housekeeping. On Expedia's website it states housekeeping services are provided. I was not going to pay for something that was stated and standard. I would have never stayed at this hotel, if they had stated this on the website. I called Expedia that evening to make a complaint. I could not get through and the same the next morning. I returned to my dirty room 13 hours later. I called
Expedia and after some 40 or so, I was offered a 25 dollar credit on a expensive vacation package. I told them I would never book a vacation package ever again on Expedia. The supervision got on the phone and let me know it was my fault that I stayed at in a dirty hotel with no room service. She said you stayed there and now you want to complain!
She told me to pay for the room to be cleaned at 9:30pm, that evening and Expedia would give me a credit. I was checking out at 6:00am next morning and she really wanted me to pay to have the room cleaned for the next guest. Is that the dumbest thing you had ever heard?. I did not misunderstand her, she stated it 8 or 9 times. She yelled and screamed and I yelled and screamed... it ended. We sat an extra 20 to 30 minutes and she said nothing.
I called the next day(today) to get some satisfaction and I found out that I accepted the twenty five dollar vacation voucher. I was enraged at the fact the supervisor lied. No matter what Expedia does they offer that twenty five dollar credit(always making sure you comeback to use it). She was to busy blaming me for staying a the hotel. The new supervisor was a joke and I thinks she was the customer service representative from yesterday playing the role of supervisor. What made it worse is all the fees that I incurred by doing business with Expedia.
