McDonald's Corporation Informative - Manager Trainee Rats Out McDonald's
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- Hello, my name is Sam Schildkraut, I hope that some of you can contact me through either my email of firstname.lastname@example.org or leave call me on my cell phone at ( 504 )-261-1398
I was hired at McDonald's and I must admit that getting work wasn't easy because I am 40 years old with a college degree, honorable discharge, and a clean record. Add to that that I've worked in the casino industry and blown the whistle on cheating and stealing. McDonald's knew beforehand that I have a lawsuit against a casino for terminating me after I called the cops on them for cheating and stealing. They hired me because they had problems with employees stealing food and all, BUT THEY MADE ONE BIG MISTAKE, they thought I would help them find theives and they weren't listening most of the time that I did or could have, but more importantly I CALLED THE BOARD OF HEALTH ON MCDONALD'S. You see, it started out simple enough, I started working at McDonald's and got their training which mean't that they'd throw me into something and then not train me on how to do it or use it.
Soon after I started working there, there was a fire, so when I came to work I would see areas that had white powder from fire extinguishers and all. I had to get products from these areas and coughed when I got the powder on myself, and even took the time to wash the plastic that things were in so as to keep them cleaner, and not many managers seemed too interested in throwing these things away. Once I even found a bad of fudge on the floor with a rip in it that was on the side of the floor and they still used it even though I offered to buy it so they wouldn't.
I started getting concerned and asking questions about the powder and then called the Board of Health that told me that McDonald's was supposed to call them after a fire but DID NOT. Yesterday I went to work and the lady from the board of health was there and we met face to face and she told me of how the place wasn't doing well on the inspection, before this we only spoke on the phone.
The staff was not too happy knowing that I made the calls to the Board of Health and started harassing me. When I got home I called local media, and to no surprise I didn't get much interest, which shows that McDonald's is more interested in having their little employees harass someone and maybe get him to quit so the lawyers don't have to cover up a hostile work environment.
As a whistleblower who thought he was going into a CLEAN job, I must point out that people hate whistleblowers and going to work yesterday makes me question how we can have a country that says "United We Stand" and for that and other reasons I can't stand for a national anthem when the results of my blowing the whistle have resulted in my front door being set on fire and a death threat letter going against me for being Jewish and saying negitives of other minorities.
I have a television show on local cable access that only costs me twenty five dollars a year, I just film with a digital camcorder and edit with a cheap computer editing system and have managed to get a few celebrities like John Walsh on my show. On one show I exposed a bar in which a black gentleman said that a customer called him the " n " word and the staff didn't do anything about it; and the bar wasn't too happy with me for that. I'm not yet certain why my door was set on fire or who wrote the death threat letter, but seeing my co-workers turn on me, enough of them anyway, with no manager putting a stop to it and to some extent encouraging it, how can I think United We Stand? I should clarify that the fire was nearly months before I went to work for McDollar's, I mean McDonald's. Of course I admire the many men and large handful of women who are risking their lives to fight for the U.S., but in a free country I can complain and I don't have to be harassed for doing so and that's never been the case.
Unlike other situations where I've complained, the McDonald's one is where I have some evidence that people who claim I'm a malcontent can not argue, you can contact the board of health and speak with the same lady I did if you want to ask for the phone number.
For those in New Orleans, I'll be glad to give you the show times for my television show and you can be on the show and talk about anything good or bad.
I believe my promotion to manager was held back over the suspicion of my calling the board of health and I've sent return receipt letters to my mcdonald's, the corporate office in illnois, and board of health saying that i won't work past this march 30th unless i get proper training with the promotion within about two months and most importantly that health issues are dealth with and not swept under the rug.
How dare the ones in power allow this situation.
I hope the company does something positive here, but my phone calls and letters have done nothing but allow me to be harassed and who knows what else between now and the end of the month. I've pointed out that I have not been written up and get along with the staff ( or did ) and I've had some fine moments with customers even when I see them off the property and I'm not in uniform.
McDonald's, I challenge you to do the right thing and give me a reason to stand for the anthem again.
