CoinStar Compliment - Change converted to Amazon Gift Card

My wife asked me to find her a good programmable crock pot on Amazon. I found one for $40. I had a jar of loose change laying around the house and thought to myself "I bet there is enough in there to pay for this crock pot"
I took my change to the nearest CoinStar and the total was $42; I got a gift card for Amazon and I was NOT charged any service fees. Went home, loaded the gift card and I should have my package by Wednesday.
If you shop on Amazon and have some spare change laying around, the closest CoinStar machine might be well worth the trip.

I also use coinstar quite often they are great for cashing in change.

Coinstars are great. We have one at the local Smiths store.

I think there are service fees if you convert the coins to cash, the gift card was provided without a fee.

MD you are correct when I get cash they charge me like 8 cents out of every dollar.

Great review. Free is best. OTOH, 8 cents per dollar is totally OUTRAGEOUS.

I use Amazon and that's a great idea! I love that there is no fee. I'll be on the lookout for a CoinStar machine.

yes there is a fee if you receive cash back..
