Petro Oil Informative - Heating Company Has Me Steamed!

Review by boilingmad on 2010-11-09
PLAINVIEW, NEW YORK -- After settling on a price for a new boiler a down payment was made by check. The salesman then asked for credit card info to be charged when the job was complete. Unusual request but reluctantly granted. The folowing day I called to let the salesman know that the credit card would not have enough to pay the balance in full. He then called my wife to say that a check for the whole job would have to be aquired before starting the job. Unhappy, and starting to wonder if I had chosen the right contractor. Fine, job complete and everything looks good. Thought I had dodged a nasty dream---NOT!!! The company double charged the final payment totally blowing up my banking acount and causing several overdraft fees. It took nearly three weeks to recover half of the double charge. There were lots of sorries but no remuneration or payment of the overdraft fees. Would I use Petro again? If they were the last heating company on earth well -----------NOT A CHANCE. The aggravation that I went through was akin to drinking sour milk and the taste still lingers and will for quite a while!

How did he double charge you if you wrote a check?
