My swirley whirlpool disaster
Whirlpool front load washer - Complaint
January 29, 2010 I purchased a Whirlpool Duet frontload washer model #WFW9150WW000 from our local Lowes. After using the machine for two weeks, the vibration was so bad that they brought us another machine.
Over the prvious two weeks I would have a piece of clothing to come out of the washer torn. I assumed they were perhaps torn by a zipper, but quickly found out that this was a pattern. I called my local Lowes and was told I perhaps needed to load the machine a little fuller.
On 10/28/10 I washed a load of clothing and added two bill hats in the middle of the load. About 20 minutes later I heard a very load noise and assumed the washer was out of balance. I went to the basement and saw that one of the hats was flopping around. I finally got the machine stopped and the door opened to find the had was torn in several places and the rubber gasket was torn all the way around. I called Whirlpool on the 28th. and a repairman showed up on the 30th. My gasket is still on backorder and I continue to call daily. Lowes say they can not do anything until my one year warranty has expired and my extended warranty kicks in. WOW what a terrible washer!
I have washed clothes for 50+ years and have never had such a TERRIBLE washer in my life. The worst part is how long it is taking to get the part. I would have been better off buying an "OFF" brand for 1/3 the price of this pricey piece of junk.
