Allegiant Airlines Complaint - Carry on bag
I traveled round trip from Knoxville to Ft. Lauderdale. I've traveled with Allegiant before and have checked in my bag. On this trip, I went out and bought a "carry on" rated bag, a well know brand, Samsonite. On the flight down to Ft. Lauderdale, I put the bag in the overhead compartment without any problems. On the flight back, upon checking in to get my boarding pass, the ticket/pass employee said I had to check in the bag. I told her it was a carry-on bag and I already traveled onboard with it on the flight down to Ft. Lauderdale. Well, she wouldn't give me my boarding pass till I paid the fee for checking in the bag. I told her Samsonite has this bag specifically rated for CARRYON. She would not listen, I couldn't miss my flight and was forced to pay the additional $35. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. It's not about the fee I had to pay, but the principle of the matter. I bought and traveled with the CARRYON bag without any problem, if she would have checked and seen I didn't have a check in bag on the flight down, she didn't even do that. I called Samsonite and they said all the airlines have their own little measurements for carryon bags, and there's nothing they can do. They have a little ticket on the luggage, CARRY ON, that's why I bought it. They should have a ticket, CARRY ON RATED FOR SOME AIRLINES.
