Quiznos Complaint - Quiznos Coupons - Subs/Coupons

Subs/Coupons - Complaint
Review by Azyah on 2010-11-10
FITCHBURG, WISCONSIN -- My boyfriend and I received Quiznos coupons and went to Quiznos to get dinner for our family. The coupons stated that you buy one sub and a regular drink and get a sub of equal or lesser value free. Also it stated one coupon per person. So I ordered first. I had ordered one large sub that came to $8 and some cents, another large sub that came to $7 and some cents, and a regular sub that came to $5 and some cents, and of course my regular soft drink. When he handed me my receipt I found that he had chosen to give me the cheapest sub (regular for $5) free. I asked why he did not give me the $7 large one free. He said very rudely that that's not how they do things there. So I asked if he could take off the regular sub because I didn't know that's how it worked and I didn't wish to purchase the regular sub. He said "NO" even though they didn't even start to make it. I asked to speak to a manager and he yelled "I am the manager!" I asked him if he could please take the regular sub off and he refused again. I told him that I would not bring my service there any longer. He said whatever. Then when my boyfriend asked to order he started to laugh at him very rudely because he had a coupon also. I interrupted his laughing and asked why are you laughing at my boyfriend. It was because he thought we were running some kind of coupon scam or something. I tried to explain to him that the coupon states, one coupon per order, we were making to different orders. He interrupted me and started shaking his bag of coupon s at me and yelling that he knows what the coupons say. I feel I was treated very badly and will never return to Quiznos. This upsets me because I really enjoy their subs.

Actually, that's the way the coupons work. They will always take the least expensive item off as the free one. So, if they had taken the $5 sub off the order as you had requested, then the "free" one would have been the $7.xx one.

As for the service, it's a shame, but that's the way it is sometimes.

Another lousy quiznos franchise, it sounds to me. Another great reason to avoid that chain, Nothing but cheap ass managers not wanting to accept coupons, lousy service, annoying commercials, Way overpriced food, skimpy on the meat. Ill stick with Subway and blimpie.

Prince I suggest you read into what being a Quiznos owner or manager is like. It isn't their fault they act the way they do. Quiznos have a high failure rate and there's a reason behind it. Quiznos barely leaves any meat on the bone for it's owners if you know what I mean. Most reject coupons for a reason.

Secondly answer me this, WHERE the heck uses a BOGO coupon and gives the most EXPENSIVE of the 2 for free? I seriously dare you to give me a location. At my work if we have a % off coupon you get the most expensive one, BUT a BOGO coupon is always the equal or lesser value of the 2.

I prefer Mr. Hero myself. Love the Romanburgers.

Usually with BOGOF coupons, the cheaper item is free, if you pay for the more expensive item. Only time you would get an item of the same value free is if both items were priced the same to begin with.

Just write it off as a lesson learned. Next time order and pay for the cheaper 3rd sub after purchasing the first 2. I wouldn't guit going someplace you enjoy over something like this.

It's actually how most of these promo deals work. I remember when I was doing retail management, we were having a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I had a customer very upset because she wanted to buy 2 shoes for $9.99 and get a third pair of $59.99 for free. Even though my example isn't equivalent to a small difference of the two subs, it's easy to see why it's policy.

It's common practice that you get the cheaper item for free. It probably says so on the coupon, too.

I think the bigger issue here is the treatment of the customers by the manager. It's not acceptable no matter what business is like.

Quizno's just never appealed to me. I like my subs cold, unless it's a meatball or sausage sub. I've eaten there a few times, and I just think it's gross.

I've had Quiznos a few times. It's ok, though a bit overpriced. And I agree that coupons that offer a free item almost always deduct the least expensive item. You don't mention whether or not the coupon explained the conditions, but I'd be willing to bet it did.
