Dancing with the Stars Complaint - Some Thing Is Wrong With The Voting

Complaint
Review by jamcmann on 2010-11-10
My wife and I have been viewers of this show since it began. This season it has become obvious that the voting has been skewed so that the unwed mom from Alaska has been kept on the show even though she has the poorest dancing ability. The show never reveals what the actual vote counts are. Is it possible that since she is the daughter of the former governor of Alaska and current darling of the political right, she will be kept on the show until the very end? In the meantime a lot better dancers have been let go.

I have reached the point that I consider this situation being corrupt. Therefore, I will no longer be a fan and viewer of what was once an excellent entertaining show.

wow, Im starting to wonder if these complaints truely ARE valid. I dont watch the show, and dont really care regardless, but why would they do that?

It's quite amazing that people think that the show is rigged because who they want voted off isn't being voted off. Maybe more people are voting for certain people to stay?

I don't see how keeping the daughter of a very polarizing political figure, who happens to be Republican, on a TV show would help anyone out. Haven't you heard that most of Hollywood is liberal and not enamored with Sarah Palin?

I keep seeing this "complaints" and not one of them has given a solid motive for the voting to be fixed so as to keep Bristol Palin. Without motive, you don't have much.

Isn't it possible that the nice young lady has touched the hearts of a lot of people?

And if unwed mothers bother you so much, maybe you should not be watching the show at all, since Brooke Burke, the co-host, is an unwed mom herself!

I don't watch the show so I don't give a flibbityjibbit who wins, but I did just read an article online this morning that DWTS is supposedly a popular show amongst Republicans. I firmly believe that on most of these competition reality shows, especially the ones that rely on viewer votes, there is some producer manipulation going on. It even says in the fine print of the end credits that producers have a hand in the final results.

It's all about the ratings, my friends. The person that you love to hate always makes it further in the competition than he or she probably should. It gets people talking and, as the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Crown, have a problem with Republicans?

Disaster Worker, what part of my comment would make you think I have a problem with Republicans? The point I was trying to make was that producers on a lot of these shows influence the results and if a the show is popular among Republicans it makes sense they might want to keep those viewers happy by keeping around the daughter of a prominent Republican. If anything it was a dig at the producers for interfering.
