Americredit Complaint - Why the Hassle

Complaint
Review by mywish on 2010-11-12
ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- I called Americredit 2 weeks ago seeking a lien release. I purchased a car from a dealership, now out of business, which didn't get the release. I was told repeatedly by customer service that because it wasn't my account there was nothing they could do. That was not true. I called over 2 days and talked to 5 different people, including a "supervisor", and they all gave the same misinformation. It was only resolved after a state DMV employee called on my behalf and talked to a dealer services representative. Yes they did have lien releases for non-originators of car loans and I got the form with no problem.

Why the hassle? They had no interest in the car. The car was paid off by the dealership years previously, but customer service kept denying me the paperwork. I don't believe they didn't know how to resolve this issue. I thought I would have to take legal action. The frustration I went through was ridiculous and nonsensical. Why treat customers like that?

Get used to it. Just more of the dumbing down we encounter everywhere.
