Target Complaint - Poor credit card policies
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- I am livid about my experience today. I gave my Target card when checking out and told it was denied. I couldn't believe it and tried swiping it again. Again, it was denied. They were unable to tell me the reason and said I had to call the number on the card when I got home. I had used the card last week and it was approved (total of $68.28--which by the way was the full amount I owed Target); my new attempted purchase was $146.27, and had to put it on another card. When I called Target credit, I was told that since I hadn't used the card for a couple of years they only would allow me a credit limit of $200) and there was nothing they would except earn back my credit limit through my consistently paying back my card. This is interesting because I have a superior credit rating and pay all my cards in full monthly. I can also walk into any store and charge thousands of dollars on credit without any problem. I am canceling my card tomorrow. The only reason I used it was to get the 5% credit on my bill and haven't been using my Target card in the past few years is that I was putting all my purchases on another singular card because of ease in keeping track of purchases. My beef is not the store's products but their companies credit card policies. Quite frankly, I'm appalled. In this day and age, this is a ridiculous policy and needs to be revised. I AM MOST CERTAINLY NOT A CREDIT RISK!!!
