Sprint Complaint - Sprint Scams Customers!
I don't normally provide reviews for anything...but I've reached my limit with Sprint.
I had Sprint years ago and got rid of their "services". Their wireless service was virtually non-existent and their customer service was horrible! There would always be some mysterious charges on my account that I would have to check every month, call them to fix it, and waste many hours on the phone arguing with their stupid customer service reps.
Recently, Sprint's CEO made a bunch of TV ads saying that they were a new company and trying harder. When they came out with the EVO and claimed they had 4G service, I signed back up with them giving them a second chance. I regret it tremendously!
I am still getting mysterious charges on my bills! When I call them, they always say that they will remove the charge, but can never offer me a proper explanation of why the charge is there to begin with! This last time, I was charged because some company texted me. The customer service representative said that this was a "premium service", even though I never signed up for any "premium service" that would charge my account whenever I would get some random unsolicited text message! How does that even make any sense? Sprint agreed to remove the charge, but I demanded a proper explanation of why I was charged in the first place. They did not answer.
First, there should be a law against some company being able to send out unsolicited texts and charge people for it. Second, your mobile carrier should be protecting you from them instead of enabling them!
Additionally, last month I had to argue with them to retroactively apply a discount that I get through my employer. The discount was supposed to be applied back when I first signed the contract for the EVO, but Sprint's systems had been overwhelmed that day and they couldn't process it. They told me that I can call at anytime and they would apply the discounts retroactively. When I called to get the discount, they told me they could not apply it retroactively. It took three layers of Sprint's "customer service" to finally find someone at their headquarters who knew that they were supposed to!
Along with the extra charges for this month's bill, they had neglected to apply the discount. So when I told the rep, she said that it was still "pending". When I demanded to speak with her supervisor, she said, "Sure, my supervisor is on the phone now", then she disconnected me.
As before, Sprint is constantly applying fake charges to customers and neglecting to apply any discounts that are due them. They must be hoping that customers won't notice. And if you call and complain, they say they'll fix it but end up giving you a run-around. On top of it all, Sprint is charging everyone an extra $10/month for 4G service that they haven't rolled out anywhere in NYC where I live. Sprint's canned answer is that it's "coming soon". Several months later, they still cannot tell you when the service we've been paying for will finally arrive.
Bottom line, don't choose Sprint. Their 3G wireless service may have improved, but that doesn't matter when you're paying for 4G. Their customer service is as lousy as ever. From the other reviews I've seen recently, they are still scamming customers with phony charges.
