Lakeside Collection Complaint - The Lakeside Collection does not care about its customers at all!
NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS -- I ordered several products from this company. When ordering online, their website will advise you that you can add up to so many more dollars before adding on more shipping charges, so that is what we did. Everything said it was in stock. Awhile later we received an order update stating that one of the two girls' luggage sets we had ordered had been cancelled. I called the customer service number (which was NOT a 1-800 number) and went through a customer service representative and a billing representative I wanted them to switch the cancelled item with one of the other two patterns that was in stock, since one set of luggage wouldn't do us much good, and I didn't want to pay to return the one we would be getting. After half an hour, it was clear that neither representative was willing to do anything except place another order for me and charge me $7.95 in shipping for the one item. (My original shipping costs were only 15.95). The second representative offered to connect me to a supervisor, so I accepted and waited another 15 minutes with a dead silent phone (not even any wait music) before finally giving up. The way I was shuttled through each representative and then passed on to a non-existent supervisor seems like a ploy to get rid of customers who they don't want to help. I called back immediately, hoping to ask for the same representative I had been talking to, but got suspicious when the 6 minute wait turned into 20 minutes. It was almost like they were purposly not answering calls from my number, since I had asked for too much the last time. The whole experience just seemed like it was planned out - not for me in particular, but any customer who insisted on being treated fairly. Beware of this company - they just want you to order, but they don't want to help you if there is a problem with your order, unless of course you are willing to pay them even more money.
