Hewlett-Packard Company Complaint - HP Laptops Known Issues HP will not resolve
I purchased two of the 9700 series laptops and have had 2 optical drives fail and now a motherboard. To have the same issues happen on similar models did not make sense to me. As the machines are out of warranty I assumed there would be an issue. What I did not know was that HUNDREDS of consumers have had similar issues with this product line and HP has yet to admit that there is a problem. The Chinese now have a lawsuit progressing about these very issues yet here in the states we are asked to pay $452 for a new motherboard, $152 for a new optical drive on a computer that is less than 2 years old and cost well over a thousand dollars.
I own 3 HP laptops, one desktop and 3 HP printers. I had also given away some older HP gear. I was a big fan of their printers and then there computers. I am to say the least extremely disappointed and am looking for a way to get HP to stand up and do what is right. Would you expect to pay half the cost of your new car to repair it after two years? That is what HP is asking it's consumers to do.
