Dancing With The Stars Complaint - Are You Kidding Me!!! - Why is Palin still in the running?

Why is Palin still in the running? - Complaint
Review by sum10els on 2010-11-18
This was a definite miscarriage of justice and purely political. And this is not the first time this has occurred on Dancing With The Stars! How did Brandy get 9's and 10's and get booted off and Palin gets 8's and 9's, shows hardly any emotion or connection with her dance partner but still manages to slip thru to the next round? I've notice on previous shows, the judges were just as shocked when someone that had been doing well was booted off!!! It's all about the TV ratings and ABC just lost a whole lot of viewers behind this, including myself. I had had my TV set to record the series...after this, I canceled it. When "TV programming" starts treating the general public like fools and idiots and just plain stupid, it's time to send a message to them that we aren't going to take it anymore! Beware people...this is a prerequisite of what voting politically is going to look like in 2012 if Palin runs...lies and deceptive practices among the government and politicans(all political parties)

Thats what happens when you mix politians and their family with a dancing program such as this. Be prepared for her to win.

It is a reality show. No different than any other one. The reason she is still in it is for ratings and publicity. As you are talking about it proves my point. Millions will tune in some wanting to see if she gets booted off and others wanting to see her win. As for Palin running in 2012 and cheating to win.. hate to break it to you but all polititions both Republican and Democrats are lying thieves who will do anything and say anything to be re-elected so it's not just Palin but every last one of them

You took the words right out of my mouth!!! I had no idea the Palins were this popular.

I don't see why people are blaming this on the show or ABC though. Assuming the voting is legitimate, it's not their fault that Bristol is popular. She might have been a poor choice for a contestant in the first place since she's not a "star", but that's water under the bridge.

"purely political"

I find that statement ironic considering that the letter contains references to Sarah Palin's political future.

I mean if someone wants to critique Bristol's dancing purely on ability that's fine. But if the critique contains political statements... it does make one wonder if the critique is based more on party affiliation rather than dancing ability.

There are no "politics" involved. What you are seeing is marketability. It is my belief this show, and likely all reality shows are not results driven based on performance or audience vote. Simply put, if a "contestant" can sell advertising time, they will remain as long as possible.

It is not about talent, not about politics, it is about name recognition. As poor a dancer as Bristol may be, she has name recognition. While this is due to her mother's political activity, it would be no different than any well known public figure's child being on the show.

Just curious, leet. Are you saying the voting is rigged?

It's not that Bristol is that poor a dancer. I think people are upset because more deserving contestants are being voting off. I agree that it's a popularity contest but not at the hands of the producers or ABC. From what I've seen of DWTS, I think they are equally fair to all the contestants, as opposed to American Idol, which highlights the people they feel are potential winners.

I just think Bristol continuing to win just shows that the "people" like her. DWTS is, after all, a popularity contest plus a dancing contest. Remember when Emmet Smith won over Mario Lopez? Mario was by far the better dancer, but Emmet by far the more popular. Politics has absolutely nothing to do with it. I feel for Bristol, because she has to put up with everyone bad mouthing her just because she is a Palin. She is only 20 for cryin out loud. Give her a break. Geez!!
