DirecTV Inc Complaint - Direct TV was a nightmare
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Once again I am in awe of the business practices of Direct TV. After finally ending our contract and waiting on our final bill - see previous complaints - we got a bill for a full month's service which I returned telling them what to do with it and requested a final bill for the $20 early disconnect fee as contracted. We got a final bill today for $35.05 - a bunch of charges and adjustments which finally ended with that number - one of which was early cancellation fee for one month - $40.00. They just don't give up - let's just make one last effort to rip off the customer. So I called in - actually getting someone who could help - I feel bad for her - she needs to find a better place to work. Anyway, she agreed it should be a $20 fee, that this was an "error" and made the adjustments. How many people just pay the extra fee to be done - or can't navigate their confusing add on fees, take off this fee, add on that one - so they just pay whatever the bill says? I would never have believed this if I hadn't experienced it - but I truly believe that they must train their billing and bookkeeping people to tack on those extra fees in the hope that the customer will just pay it. There is no way those "errors" would keep occurring. The worst part about all of this is, with the current economy and job situation, there are probably a number of Direct TV employees who are doing some unethical things to keep their jobs - while the company rips off the public. Shame on you Direct TV - you have reached a new low. But you're not my problem any more - HOORAY!
